Fixtures & Results

What a great weekend both on and off the pitch for Clane GAA last weekend. After the fantastic news regarding the Sports Capital Development grant award of almost €90,000 to Clane GAA, our U17 Footballers and Minor Ladies Footballers both won their respective championship semi finals. The U17's overcame Kilcullen to set up a final fixture this Sunday against Naas. Throw-in is at 12.30pm in Newbridge. Our Ladies Footballers put in a huge performance to overcome Celbridge in the semi-final barely 4 days after having lost to the same opposition in the final group round robin fixture. They will now face Suncroft in the final, which will take place in Rathcoffey on November 30th. The throw-in time will be confirmed this week so please keep an eye on ClubZap and the web site for fixture updates.

Best of luck to both teams and management!

Meanwhile our U21 Hurlers retained the U21 B Championship with a hard fought win against Leixlip. The team found it very hard to get going and squandered numerous chances in the first half, posting 11 wides before they found their rhythm in the 2nd half and emerged deserving winners. There were some great performances over the 60 mins particularly from Brian McLoughlin who scored 1-3, Aidan Mooney who grabbed the all important first goal, Colm O'Sullivan, Captain Brian Healy and Caolon Smith dominated the middle, Mark Doyle made a super point blank save mid way through the 2nd half when Leixlip threatened a come back, Eamonn Little was dominant in defence as was Aaron Connolly who dealt well with the threat posed by the pacy Leixlip full forward line. Cormac Vizzard also did very well when introduced both scoring and setting up a number of scores.

Congrats to the team and management!

Paddy McKenna off to Abu Dhabi!

Don't worry he's not transferring!! Huge congratulations to Paddy McKenna who has been selected as a replacement Hurling All-Star for this years trip to Abu Dhabi later this month. Paddy will play in a match between the 2018 All-Star Team and the 2019 All-Stars. Best of luck Paddy!
